{"id":4954,"date":"2020-08-05T14:30:45","date_gmt":"2020-08-05T14:30:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mercuryorder.wpengine.com\/uncategorized-ie\/irish-government-announces-funding-for-retailers-to-go-digital\/"},"modified":"2020-08-05T15:00:15","modified_gmt":"2020-08-05T15:00:15","slug":"irish-government-announces-funding-for-retailers-to-go-digital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mercuryorder.com\/ie\/news-ie\/irish-government-announces-funding-for-retailers-to-go-digital\/","title":{"rendered":"Irish government announces funding for retailers to go digital"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As many businesses scramble to adapt to online selling in an effort to quickly recoup their coronavirus losses, the government has announced an \u2018Online Retail Scheme\u2019. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This enables Irish retailers to enhance and improve their digital capability while developing a more competitive online presence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Successful applicants will be awarded funding of up to 80% of the project eligible costs, with a maximum grant of \u20ac40,000.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This scheme will provide Irish retailers with additional resources to respond and adapt their business model to the current and upcoming challenges while<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">increasing their customer base to build a more resilient business in the domestic and global marketplace, both online and offline. <\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Where traditional business operations have been gravely disrupted by Covid-19, this is a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">great opportunity for retailers to bounce back. <\/span> <\/p>\n<p><b>Who can apply?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The applicant must be an Irish retail enterprise that had 10 or more employees on or before 29 February 2020 and has the potential to sustain or create jobs and generate growth in online transactions. The business must also:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have an existing online presence (website or social media).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have a retail outlet and derive the majority of revenue from the retail outlet.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Previous applicants of the Online Retail Scheme who were unsuccessful will be eligible to re-apply with a modified proposal.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Previously successful applicants are eligible to re-apply, once they have fully completed the project funded, claimed all eligible costs and propose a clearly different project to that undertaken previously.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>How to apply<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Application must be made via the <a href=\"https:\/\/secure.enterprise-ireland.com\/Xtranet\/CredentialManagement\/cmLogin.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Enterprise Ireland Online Application System<\/a> during the call open dates.<\/p>\n<p>Call open date:Wednesday 29th April 2020<\/p>\n<p>Call close date: Wednesday 27th May 2020 at 3pm.<\/p>\n<p><b>How Covid-19 is reshaping the Irish retail landscape <\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is certain that this pandemic is going to lead to long-lasting changes in consumer behaviour.
