The software was designed during lockdown by Derry-based digital growth agency Grofuse to allow smaller retailers to offer online shopping for home delivery and collection, as well as helping them to compete online against supermarket multiples.<\/p>\n

Mercury Order has now been nominated as a finalist in one of the world\u2019s leading e-commerce trade exhibitions. The E-Commerce Expo 2020 has shortlisted the retail software in two separate awards categories: \u2018Best E-commerce in Lockdown\u2019 and \u2018Best E-Commerce Technology Innovation\/Best Product at the E-Commerce Expo\u2019.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the E-Commerce Expo 2020 said the new \u2018best in lockdown\u2019 category had been introduced to showcase innovation during the Covid-19 fallout.<\/p>\n

Grofuse Director Ian Cullen said Mercury Order was conceived as panic set in among retailers and shoppers at the beginning of the coronavirus lockdown in March.<\/p>\n

The 2019 E-Commerce Expo and Technology for Marketing event attracted around 15,000 delegates to London\u2019s Olympia where 150 exhibitors showcased their products and services. The winners will be announced virtually at 5pm on Wednesday, September 30 during the E-Commerce Expo & Technology for Marketing virtual 2020 exhibition, which runs from September 29 – October 1.<\/p>\n
